Chicken Broccoli Casserole(Makes 4 To 6 Servings) - cooking recipe

1 lb. bunch fresh broccoli
1/4 lb. butter
2 c. celery, diced
1 c. onion, diced
1 medium green pepper, diced
2 c. fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 Tbsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1 1/4 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breast, cooked and cubed
16 oz. cream cheese, softened
Preparation

Cut buds from broccoli stems.
Peel stems using a potato peeler and cut stems into 1/2-inch pieces.
Steam stems and buds until tender-crisp.
Drain.
Saute in butter the celery, onion, green pepper, mushrooms and steamed broccoli until all vegetables are tender.
Add the chicken and seasonings.
Add the cream cheese to the mixture and blend over low heat until the cream cheese is melted.
Pour mixture into buttered 9 x 13-inch casserole.
Heat in a 350\u00b0 oven until top is golden brown.
