Easy Apple Dumpling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 baking apples, cored and pared
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 egg, lightly beaten
    4 Tbsp. melted butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Prepare apples and butter 4 custard cups large enough to set apples in.
    Mix 1/4 cup
    of
    the
    sugar
    with the cinnamon. Roll apples
    in
    cinnamon-sugar.
    Place
    into
    custard
    cups. Sprinkle remaining sugar mixture
    over
    apples.
    Stir
    together 1/4 cup remaining sugar with the flour, baking powder and salt. Mix egg, butter and vanilla.
    Spoon
    batter over apples, dividing evenly. Bake at 375\u00b0 until
    crust is golden and apples are cooked,

    to 40
    minutes.
    Serve
    with
    slightly
    sweetened whipped cream or ice cream.
