Yeast Dough - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/2 c. flour, sifted
    1 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    1 pkg. yeast
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. lukewarm water
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Cut in shortening and egg. Dissolve yeast in water and add to flour mixture.
    Knead until smooth.
    Roll and cut.
    Make cloverleaf rolls.
    Can be kept in refrigerator up to 1 week.
    Raise for 1 hour, then bake at 400\u00b0 until golden brown.
    Makes 2 thick crusts.
