Ingredients

2 c. sugar
2 c. water
2 c. vinegar
1 tsp. cloves (whole)
1 tsp. allspice
1 Tbsp. cinnamon or 2 sticks
1 thinly sliced lemon
Preparation

Bring ingredients to a boil and pour over beets (1 gallon cooked).
Can and seal jars.
