Hamburger Barley Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. ground beef, browned and drained
    16 oz. can tomatoes, chopped
    6 oz. tomato juice
    7 c. water
    1/2 c. fresh green beans, in pieces
    1 green pepper, chopped
    1 c. diced celery
    1/2 c. celery tops, chopped
    1 tsp. each salt and pepper
    2 tsp. garlic
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 tsp. paprika
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    1/2 c. barley
    1 large potato, chopped
    2 carrots, sliced
Preparation
    Combine all but last 2 ingredients.
    Simmer 1 hour.
    Add carrots and simmer 10 minutes more.
    Add potato and simmer 20 minutes more.
