Belle Luther'S Coconut Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    3 c. sifted flour (cake flour)
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. sweet milk
    1/2 c. coconut milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    6 egg whites
    1 fresh coconut
    1 pt. whipping cream
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Grate a fresh coconut; whip one pint whipping cream, add 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
    In between each layer, spread whipping cream mixture and top with coconut.
    Cover top and sides with cream and coconut.
    Keep in refrigerator.
