Sauerbraten Venison Or Beef - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 lb. venison or beef
garlic to taste
2 tsp. salt
pepper to taste
2 c. vinegar
2 c. water
1/2 c. sliced onion
2 bay leaves
1 tsp. peppercorns
1/4 c. sugar
1 c. sweet or sour cream
flour and grease (lard or butter)
Preparation

Rub meat with the cut surface of garlic, salt and pepper. Place in large pan and heat vinegar, water, onions, bay leaves, peppercorns and sugar together, but don't boil.
Pour hot mixture over meat, cover and refrigerate for 4 to 8 days, turning meat each day.
