Scottish Trifle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    raspberry or strawberry preserves
    sponge cake or pound cake
    1 or 2 pkg. vanilla pudding
    2 large c. (30 oz.) drained fruit cocktail
    1/2 pt. whipped cream or Cool Whip
    banana and strawberries (for garnish)
Preparation
    Make 1 or 2 packages vanilla pudding and layer in order given: preserves to cover bottom of dish, cake broken into pieces, half of vanilla pudding, drained fruit cocktail, half of vanilla pudding, cover with whipped cream, garnish with sliced banana and strawberries.
    Make in early a.m. or let set overnight. Serves 6 to 8.
