Rosalynn Carter'S "Plains Special" Cheese Ring - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 c. mayonnaise
    1 small onion, finely grated
    1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
    strawberry preserves
    green grapes
Preparation
    Combine cheese, nuts, onion and pepper.
    Add mayonnaise and blend well.
    Line 3 to 4-cup mold with plastic wrap, allowing enough overlap to seal.
    Pat cheese mixture into mold firmly. Seal and chill.
    Refrigerate until firm (several hours or overnight).
    To serve, unmold and fill center with either preserves or green grapes.
    Serve with crackers.
