Buttermilk Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    3 c. sugar
    5 eggs, separated
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Add soda to 1/2 cup buttermilk; mix well.
    Add to butter mixture.
    Add flour and rest of buttermilk. Add vanilla.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Turn into large loaf pan.
    Bake in a 325\u00b0 oven for 1 1/4 hours, or until done.
