White Christmas Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 baked and cooled pastry shell (9-inch)
1 Tbsp. gelatin
1/4 c. cold water
1/2 c. sugar
4 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. milk
3/4 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. almond extract
1/2 c. whipped cream
3 egg whites
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. moist shredded coconut
Preparation

Soften gelatin in cold water.
Mix together in saucepan 1/2 cup sugar, flour and salt. Stir in milk gradually.
Cook over low heat, stirring until it boils.
Boil 1 minute.
Remove from heat. Stir in softened gelatin.
Cool.
When partially set, beat with rotary beater until smooth.
Blend in flavoring.
Gently fold in cream, whipped stiff.
Carefully fold this mixture into a meringue made of egg whites, cream of tartar and 1/2 cup sugar. Lastly fold in coconut.
Pile into pie shell.
Sprinkle with additional coconut and chill set, about 2 hours.
