Hungarian Coffee Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. lukewarm milk
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    2 cakes compressed dry yeast cakes *
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. soft shortening
    4 1/2 to 5 c. G. M. flour
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. finely chopped nuts
Preparation
    Place one layer of balls so they barely touch in a well-greased 9-inch tube pan (angel food pan).
    Sprinkle with a few raisins.
    Add another layer of balls and sprinkle with more raisins, pressing them in slightly.
    A few candied cherries can be used for looks.
    Let rise for 45 minutes.
    Bake for 35 to 40 minutes at 375\u00b0.
    Loosen from pan.
    Invert pan so butter-sugar mixture runs down over the cake.
    To serve, break apart with 2 forks.
