Gran'S Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
    1 3/4 c. dark brown sugar, firmly packed
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. cinnamon
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Mix together butter and brown sugar. Beat in eggs.
    Combine remaining dry ingredients.
    Combine vanilla with milk and stir into batter alternately with dry ingredients. Pour into greased 9-inch square pan and bake for 1 hour or until middle tests done.
    May be served plain or with vanilla ice cream or lemon sauce.
