Ingredients

1/2 c. (1 stick) margarine or butter, softened
1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. quick cooking or regular oats, if desired
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Beat margarine, sugars, peanut butter, vanilla and egg in medium bowl vigorously until creamy and blend well.
Mix flour, baking soda, salts and oats.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop tablespoon of dough about 2-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until brown.
Remove from cookie sheets.
Add 1/3 flour if omitting oats.
