Krendal (Russian Rolls) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 pkg. yeast
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. salt
    7 1/2 to 8 c. flour
    2 c. half and half
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1/4 tsp. saffron threads
    4 egg yolks plus 1 egg yolk
    grated rind of 1 lemon
    sliced almonds
Preparation
    Heat half and half until scalding; add to sugar, butter and salt.
