Old Fashioned Egg Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 eggs, beaten
    1 c. sugar
    2 c. milk, scalded
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 unbaked pie shell
Preparation
    Beat eggs well.
    Combine sugar and beat until yellow.
    Pour hot, but not boiling, milk slowly over mixture beating constantly. Add salt and vanilla.
    Pour in shell.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 300\u00b0 and bake until custard is firm.
