Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    large or small pickles, sliced in 1/2-inch pieces (enough to fill jar)
    3 qt. water
    1 c. uniodized salt
    1 Tbsp. alum
    1 1/2 pt. vinegar
    1 pt. water
    3 c. sugar
    1/2 oz. stick cinnamon
    1/2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Fill 1 gallon glass jar with small pickles or large pickles, sliced in 1/2-inch pieces.
    Cover with mixture of 3 quarts water and 1 heaping cup uniodized salt; let set 1 week.
    Drain and cover with clear water overnight (24 hours).
    Drain and cover with approximately 3 quarts of water mixed with 1 tablespoon alum; let set 24 hours.
    Drain.
