Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. flour
    1/4 c. milk
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix milk and egg.
    Add to flour mixture.
    Stir until blended. Knead lightly.
    Roll very thin.
    Cut in strips.
    If more broth is needed, add milk and a little butter.
