Whole Wheat Batter Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. warm water
2 pkg. dry yeast
2 c. unsifted whole wheat flour
4 c. sifted white flour
4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. soft shortening
1/4 c. honey
Preparation

Measure into medium mixing bowl the warm water and yeast. Stir to dissolve.
Mix in large bowl the whole wheat flour, white flour and salt.
Add to 1/2 of flour mixture the shortening, honey and yeast.
Beat on medium speed 2 minutes.
Add remaining flour and blend with spoon until smooth.
Cover with waxed paper; let rise until about double in size, 30 to 60 minutes.
Stir down batter by beating about 25 strokes.
