Peking Shrimp - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. dark corn syrup
    1/4 c. water
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    2 Tbsp. sherry or red wine
    1 clove garlic, minced
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    12 oz. frozen shrimp, thawed
    1 small tomato, cut up
    1/2 green pepper, chopped
    1/4 tsp. ginger
Preparation
    Combine corn syrup, water, soy sauce, sherry or wine, cornstarch, garlic and ginger; set aside.
    Heat oil to medium-low temperature in large frying pan.
    Add shrimp and cook, stirring occasionally, about 3 minutes.
    Add sauce, tomatoes and peppers and bring to a boil.
    Boil 1 minute, stirring gently.
