Hummingbird Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple (undrained)
2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts, divided
2 c. chopped bananas
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. salad oil
3 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. soda
Preparation

Combine dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add eggs and salad oil, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened. Do not beat. Stir in vanilla, pineapple, 1 cup chopped nuts and bananas. Spoon batter into 3 well-greased and floured 9-inch cake pans. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes or until cake springs back when touched. Cool in pans. Cool completely. Spread frosting between layers, on top and sides of cake. Sprinkle top with 1 cup chopped nuts.
