Aunt Helen'S Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. cornmeal
    3 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 c. buttermilk
    2/3 c. water
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 c. grated onion
Preparation
    Combine dry ingredients and onion.
    Add buttermilk and eggs. Stir just enough to moisten cornmeal.
    Drop rounded teaspoons in deep fat at 375\u00b0.
    Fry until golden brown, turning once (about 2 minutes each side).
    Drain and serve at once.
    Yield:
    About 80 puppies.
