Ingredients

1 lb. shortening for deep fat frying
3 Spanish onions
1 c. milk
1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Heat shortening slowly in deep kettle to 350\u00b0.
Peel and slice onions 1/4-inch thick.
Separate rings.
Dip into milk, then into flour and salt, which have been sifted together.
Fry a few onions rings at a time in hot shortening, until golden brown, 5 to 7 minutes.
Drain well over kettle, then place on tray covered with absorbent paper.
Serve hot.
