Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (6 oz.) cans minced clams
    1 c. onion, finely chopped
    1 c. celery, finely chopped
    2 c. diced potatoes
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    3/4 c. butter
    3/4 c. flour
    1 qt. half and half
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    pepper to taste
Preparation
    Drain juice from clams and pour over vegetables in medium saucepan.
    Add salt and enough water to cover.
    Simmer, covered, over medium heat until potatoes are tender, about 20 minutes.
