Sweet Crock Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 gal. cucumbers
1 c. salt
1 gal. water
1/2 box alum
vinegar (approximately 1 gal.)
10 lb. sugar
1/2 box pickling spices
Preparation

Wash cucumbers and place in churn or crock.
Cover with brine water (1 cup salt/1 gallon water).
Cover with plate and brick to push all
cucumbers beneath brine water.
Let soak 14 days.
Wash, slice and place cucumbers back in churn with alum and water to cover.
Let soak 24 hours.
