Barbecued Ribs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium onion
    1 bottle chili sauce or catsup
    1 c. water
    1 tsp. pepper and salt
    1 bay leaf
    juice of 1 lemon
    4 Tbsp. brown sugar
    spare ribs (about 5 lb. pork ribs)
Preparation
    Brown onion in butter.
    Add ingredients to onions and simmer 15 to 20 minutes.
    Cook spare ribs in water; drain water off and add sauce to ribs.
    Cook until tender, about 1 hour.
