Never Fail Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    cucumbers
    1 head and some stalk of dill
    1 clove garlic
    piece of yellow pepper (if desired)
    scant 1/4 tsp. powdered alum
    3 c. water
    1 c. vinegar
    1/4 c. coarse pickling salt
Preparation
    Pack washed cucumbers in jars.
    While packing, add dill, garlic and yellow pepper (if desired).
    In the top of each jar, put powdered alum.
    Combine water, vinegar and pickling salt. Heat to boiling, then pour over cucumbers.
    Add hot lids and process in boiling water bath for 10 minutes.
    Makes enough liquid for 2 bottles.
