Ingredients

2 1/4 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sweet milk
1/4 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
4 egg yolks
Preparation

Cream sugar and butter together.
Add egg yolks.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
Add alternately the milk and flour.
Beat 4 egg whites until stiff and fold in batter.
Make three 10-inch layers.
When cool, spread icing over cake.
Then cover with coconut.
