Fresh Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 medium apples, cubed
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 lb. butter or margarine
    1 egg
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. allspice
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 c. walnuts
    1/2 c. raisins
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Peel and core apples; cut into chunks in bowl.
    Cover with sugar for 10 minutes.
    Melt butter; stir into apple mixture.
    Add egg, nuts and raisins.
    Sift in flour, baking soda, spices and water.
    Bake in greased 8-inch pan at 375\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Cool and serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
