Cream Cabbage Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium cabbage, coarsely chopped
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1/3 c. toasted bread crumbs
    2 Tbsp. melted butter
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1 c. whipping cream
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. grated Parmesan or Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Cook cabbage, covered, 10 minutes in a small amount of boiling salted water.
    Drain well and set aside.
    Melt 3 tablespoons butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat; add flour, stirring until smooth.
    Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
    Gradually add milk and whipping cream; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened and bubbly.
    Stir in salt, pepper and nutmeg.
    Add cabbage to white sauce, mixing well.
    Spoon into buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole.
    Sprinkle with cheese and top with breadcrumbs; drizzle with 2 tablespoons melted butter and bake at 375\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
    Serve 8.
