Pasta And Ceci (Chickpeas) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large can ceci
    1 lb. small pasta (small shells or ditalini)
    1/2 onion, finely chopped
    4 Tbsp. olive oil
Preparation
    In medium size pot, pour in oil. Add onion and cook on medium heat until onion is transparent. Add ceci (rinse can with a little water and add to ceci) and cook on low gas for 30 minutes with lid on. Cook macaroni according to package directions.
    Drain macaroni.
    Reserve some liquid.
    Put macaroni in bowl and add ceci.
    Mix well. Add some of the macaroni liquid.
    Serve. Garnish with macaroni, Parmesan cheese and/or crushed red pepper, if desired.
