Chinese Green Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. green beans, ends trimmed
    2 Tbsp. each soy sauce and water
    1 tsp. each cornstarch and brown sugar
    1 tsp. dark oriental sesame oil
    1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
    2 tsp. canola oil
    1 tsp. each minced garlic and ginger root
Preparation
    Place beans in a large pot and steam 6 minutes or until crisp-tender.
    Cool under running water; drain.
    Mix soy sauce, water, cornstarch, sugar, sesame oil and red pepper in bowl until blended.
    Heat oil in pot or wok.
    Add beans and stir-fry 3 minutes or until beans are very hot and begin to char in spots. Add garlic and ginger root.
    Continue stir-frying several minutes more.
    Pour in soy sauce mixture.
    Toss beans constantly until evenly coated and glazed.
