Caramel Apples - cooking recipe
Ingredients

wash, dry and chill 9 medium apples
2 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2/3 c. white corn syrup
2/3 c. butter
1 c. cream
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Insert sturdy wooden skewers into stem end of apple.
Combine all ingredients into a deep 2 quart saucepan.
Cook to 246\u00b0 (a little dropped into cold water forms a firm ball), stirring constantly to prevent scorching.
Remove from heat.
Cool until mixture thickens slightly.
Quickly dip each apple into caramel mixture and twist until evenly and completely covered.
Drain on wax paper.
