Creamy Broccoli Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small onion, minced
    4 Tbsp. butter
    5 Tbsp. flour
    3 c. light cream or half and half
    1 to 2 c. chicken broth
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen broccoli, slightly thawed
    1 can undiluted cream of potato soup
    grated Cheddar cheese
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Saute onion in butter until tender.
    Stir in flour, salt and pepper.
    Gradually add cream, stirring constantly.
    Add broth according to desired thickness of soup.
    Add broccoli, nutmeg and potato soup.
    Cook over low heat for 25 minutes.
    Stir occasionally.
    Pour into serving bowls; sprinkle with finely grated Cheddar cheese.
