Vegetable Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cooked, mashed vegetables (leftover or canned)
    1/4 c. milk
    1 beaten egg
    3 c. crushed saltines or bread crumbs (put 1 c. aside)
    2 Tbsp. butter
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Mix together and shape into flat patties or cone shape.
    Drop into deep fat (hot) until brown and top with cream of celery soup or cream sauce.
