Food For The Gods - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1 c. butter (2 sticks)
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    dash of salt
    2 eggs
    1 lb. chopped dates
    1 c. walnuts
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream butter.
    Add sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing until smooth.
    Fold in flour, then beat again.
    Add vanilla.
    Fold in walnuts and chopped dates until smooth.
    Pour in greased pan; spread evenly.
    Lastly, sprinkle/spread a little brown sugar on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
    Cool and remove from pan.
