Hot German Potato Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 to 8 potatoes
    1 medium onion, diced
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1/3 c. sugar
    1/3 c. vinegar
    2/3 c. water
    8 slices bacon, cut in pieces
    1 tsp. celery seed (optional)
    salt to taste
Preparation
    Pare and cube potatoes; boil, but do not allow them to become mushy.
    Drain and set aside.
    Fry the bacon and onion together. Reserve bacon fat.
    In reserved fat, add flour and stir until smooth.
    Add the sugar, vinegar and water; bring to boil, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat and pour over potatoes, bacon, onion and celery seed.
    Add salt, if desired.
    Serve warm.
