Cucumber Pickles #1 - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. sliced cucumbers
    6 sliced onions
    2 sliced bell peppers
    1 sliced carrot
    1/2 c. plain salt
    5 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    3 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Layer
    vegetables; sprinkle with salt and ice.\tLet set 3 hours;
    wash
    off.\tCombine
    5 cups sugar, turmeric, celery seed, mustard
    seed
    and vinegar.
    Bring to a rolling boil for 15 to 20 minutes.
    Seal in hot sterilized jars.
