Potato And Garlic Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 Tbsp. butter
    2 leeks (white part only), cleaned and sliced
    15 large cloves garlic, peeled
    2 lb. potatoes, peeled and cubed
    6 c. chicken broth
    1 tsp. salt or to taste
    1 c. milk or cream
Preparation
    Melt 2 tablespoons butter in large, heavy bottomed pot and saute leeks and garlic.
    Cook over low heat for several minutes. Add potatoes, broth and salt and allow to come to a boil.
    Cover and simmer 5 minutes to an hour.
    Remove potatoes and garlic cloves; reserve both.
    Puree a small amount at a time in a blender. When smooth, return to broth.
    Add water if too thick.
    Add milk or cream and heat.
    Add remaining 2 tablespoons butter.
    Serve.
