Toffee Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter, softened
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg yolk
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1-7/8 c. flour
    6 milk chocolate bars
    1 c. chopped and toasted almonds or pecans
Preparation
    In mixing bowl cream together butter and brown sugar until light.
    Add egg yolk and vanilla, gradually beating in flour until smooth and blended (dough will be thick).
    Spread evenly on an ungreased jelly roll pan (cookie sheet with sides).
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 minutes or until crust is golden brown and puffy.
    Remove from oven.
    Arrange chocolate bars evenly over surface, let set 5 minutes to soften.
    Spread chocolate and sprinkle top with chopped nuts.
