Buttermilk Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter (1/2 stick)
2 Tbsp. corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. soda (can cut down)
lots of pecans

Preparation

Mix all ingredients, except vanilla.
Bring to a boil and cook until thick.
Set off heat.
Add vanilla.
Let set a short time. Beat until thick.
Drop on wax paper.
