Firehouse Jambalaya - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. hot Italian sausage links, cut in 1/2-inch thick slices
    1 each medium-size green bell pepper, seeded and chopped, and yellow onion, chopped
    2 ribs celery, chopped
    1 c. rice (uncooked)
    1/4 tsp. ground red pepper
    2 c. chicken broth
    1 (14 1/2 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
    1/2 lb. shrimp, cleaned, deveined and rinsed
    1/2 c. chopped green onion
Preparation
    Heat 3-quart saucepan or Dutch oven over medium heat until hot.
    Add sausage, bell pepper, yellow onion and celery.
    Cook 3 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sausage is brown and onion is tender.
    Drain fat; add rice and red pepper.
    Cook 2 to 3 minutes or until the rice is browned.
