Mexican Bean Pot - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (1 lb.) pkg. dried large lima beans, pinto beans or Great Northern beans
    6 c. water
    1/2 lb. hot Italian sausage or 6 oz. domestic salami
    1 large onion, chopped (1 c.)
    2 large green peppers, halved, seeded and cut into large pieces
    2 to 4 tsp. chili powder
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. basil leaf, crumbled
    2 envelopes or 2 tsp. instant beef broth
Preparation
    Pick over beans and wash.
    Place in a large saucepan and add water.
    Bring to boiling; lower heat and cover.
    Simmer for 1 hour.
