Linger Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. Crisco
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    3 eggs
    3 c. flour
    1/2 c. sour cream
    2 (20 oz. each) cans cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Cream the shortening.
    Add sugar and dry ingredients gradually with sour cream. Add vanilla.
    Pat all but 2 cups dough on ungreased cookie sheet. Roll out remaining 2 cups dough for strips on top.
    Take 2 cans cherry pie filling and spread on top of dough.
    Add the strips.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 or 30 minutes. Serves 15 or more.
