Oatmeal Gingersnaps - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. quick cooking rolled oats
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. ground ginger
    1/4 tsp. ground cloves
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/4 c. molasses
    1 egg
    sugar
Preparation
    Stir together first 6 ingredients and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
    Blend in shortening, molasses and egg.
    Beat well with electric mixer for 2 minutes.
    Form into 1-inch balls.
    Roll in sugar.
    Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes. Let stand 1 minute.
    Cool on rack.
    Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
