Tea Scones(Makes 16) - cooking recipe

2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
6 Tbsp. butter
1 slightly beaten egg
1/2 c. milk
Preparation

Sift together dry ingredients and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add the egg and milk, stirring until dough follows the fork around the bowl.
Knead on floured surface about 15 times and cut it in half.
Shape each half into a ball and pat that into a circle 1/2-inch thick and about 6-inches in diameter.
Cut this piece into 8 wedges.
