Gold Loaf Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sifted cake flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. milk
6 egg yolks (unbeaten)
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients in mixing bowl. Add shortening (preferably butter-flavored Crisco), half of the milk and egg yolks. Stir until flour is dampened, then beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Add remaining milk and beat 1 minute more. Bake in greased and paper-lined loaf pan (10 x 5 x 3-inch) in 350\u00b0 oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Cool 5 minutes. Remove from pan. May be served with ice cream or fresh fruit.
