Best Ever Watermelon Pickle Rind - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. peeled watermelon rind, cut into small to medium chunks
    3 1/2 lb. sugar
    1 pt. white vinegar
    1/2 tsp. oil of cloves (purchase at drug store)
    1/4 tsp. oil of cinnamon (purchase at drug store)
Preparation
    Cook rind until tender (not real soft) to which 2 tablespoons salt and 1/2 teaspoon powdered alum has been added.
    When tender, drain off water and rinse.
