Easy Hawaiian Torte - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    1 unbeaten egg
    1 c. (8 3/4 oz. can) undrained crushed pineapple
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. coconut
    1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
Preparation
    Sift together flour, soda and salt.
    Cream butter.
    Gradually add sugar, creaming well.
    Add egg, crushed pineapple and vanilla. Mix well.
    Stir in sifted dry ingredients.
    Turn into 9-inch square pan, greased and floured on bottom.
    Combine coconut and packed brown sugar and sprinkle over batter.
    Bake at 350\u00b0
    for 35 to 40 minutes.
