Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    flour
    1 egg, beaten with a little water
    seasoned dry bread crumbs or cornmeal
    1/2-inch slices green tomatoes
    oil (for frying)
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Place flour in shallow dish, egg wash in shallow dish and bread crumbs or cornmeal in shallow dish (3 dishes).
    Dredge tomato slices in flour and shake off excess. Dip in egg wash. Drain excess, then coat with seasoned bread crumbs. Shake off excess.
    Heat oil in large heavy skillet over medium heat.
    When hot, add tomatoes in single layer and cook several minutes, until golden, then turn. Cook, remove to drain on paper toweling and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
